A Tuscan Villa Dinner to Remember with Private Chef Giacomo Petri 🍷🍑🥩

Every now and then, a meal becomes something more than just dinner—it becomes an experience. Last night was exactly that. Set at our villa in the heart of Chianti, under the soft glow of golden hour, we enjoyed a private feast crafted by none other than Chef Giacomo Petri of Happy Jack – Private Organic Chef, with his wonderful assistant, Sara, orchestrating every detail behind the scenes.

It was an evening of laughter, wine, and food so good we actually had to remind ourselves to pace things for the next meal he’s preparing later this week (yes, we’ve already booked round two!).

Giacomo is the culinary genius behind Happy Jack, based in Montespertoli just outside Florence. His passion for local, organic ingredients is matched only by his calm, thoughtful presence in the kitchen. Meanwhile, Sara quietly handled everything from plating to pouring wine like a pro—ensuring every moment felt perfectly timed and totally relaxed.

🍞 A Few Extras from the Chef

Before we even got to the menu, Giacomo surprised us with a couple of extras: fresh, rustic bread made from heirloom flour from his hometown, which he called “ancient bread,” and a stunning cherry tomato stuffed with ricotta and basil. Presented whole on black slate and sliced open at the table, it was a small dish that made a big impression.

🦆 Duck and Peach with Franciacorta

Our first course paired tender duck with juicy peach—sweet, savory, and simply perfect. A glass of Franciacorta Parosè Brut added a celebratory sparkle to kick off the evening.

🎃 Pumpkin and Truffle Ravioli with Orpicchio

This dish was autumn comfort wrapped in pasta. The creamy pumpkin and truffle filling was rich but balanced, and the Orpicchio white brought a delicate herbal lift that tied it all together beautifully.

🥩 Florentine Steak with Tuscan Red

Then came the showstopper: Bistecca alla Fiorentina, sliced thick and served rare. It came with beautifully roasted potatoes and a generous side of sautéed spinach, earthy and garlicky in the best way. The La Regola Tuscan red was bold enough to stand up to the dish, yet elegant enough to sip slowly and savor.

🍰 Tiramisu with Passito Wine

We finished with a luxurious tiramisu, as airy and creamy as a cloud. Paired with a sweet golden Passito wine, it was a finale that made us all pause and smile.

We ate. We laughed. We toasted to the good life. There’s something about dining outdoors in Tuscany that makes every moment feel cinematic—and this one absolutely was.
