Mavs Million Mansion Tour – Cedar Creek Lake

Liz and I rolled out of our condo around 8 a.m. for the drive down to Kaufman, TX, where the Maverick PCA crew was gathering for the Mavs Million Mansion Tour.

The morning was crisp, with that perfect early-October light that makes every metallic paint color sparkle. Somewhere along Highway 175, a flash of Miami Blue caught my eye — a 718 Cayman. I had a feeling I knew that car, and sure enough, when we pulled alongside, it was Jennifer P. from our club. Without a word or a plan, we naturally fell into formation. A few miles later another Porsche tucked in, and suddenly we had our own little pre-tour convoy heading toward Kaufman.

We reached Norman Junior High School on South Houston Street just before the drivers’ meeting. Randy L. gave the morning briefing, handed out group assignments, and outlined the route. Liz and I were in the first group, helping direct others on where to park once we arrived at our final destination.

At 10:00 a.m. sharp, engines fired up and the first group rolled out. I had a GoPro mounted below my rearview mirror, plus another on my front and rear tow hooks to capture the action from every angle. The result was some beautiful footage later stitched together in GoPro’s Quik App, which I’ve shared below — complete with rolling shots, reflections of the convoy behind us, and those quick flashes of sunlight slicing through the trees.

The route was a scenic mix of two-lane farm roads, gentle elevation changes, and long, empty straights cutting through wide-open Texas countryside. We passed Crandall, Mabank, and Eustace, trading farmland for glimpses of water and rolling oak groves as we neared Cedar Creek Lake. The drive was smooth, relaxed, and wonderfully Porsche-appropriate — just the right blend of rhythm and restraint.

By 11:00 a.m., we arrived at our destination: a 25-acre, $19 million lakefront estate. The property was stunning — manicured lawns down to the shoreline, multiple homes connected by stone walkways, and a boathouse tucked into the cove. If I ever find myself with a spare $19 million, this is exactly where I’d plant it.

Lunch was provided by 6 Forks Farm, who rolled up with a wood-fired pizza truck and turned the front drive into an open-air kitchen. Everything was made to order, and the pizzas were as good as anything in Dallas — thin, crispy, smoky perfection. Between slices, guests wandered through the estate, admired the view, or cast a line to catch a few bass, crappie, or catfish from the lake.

After food, photos, and plenty of laughs, we made our way back home — tired, full, and smiling. It was another signature Maverick PCA event: great roads, great cars, and even better people.

If you drive a Porsche and haven’t joined the Porsche Club of America, you’re missing out on experiences like this one.
