There’s something special about getting up early, watching the sun rise over a convoy of Porsches, and heading out for a day of adventure with friends.
Our recent Maverick PCA Drive & Arrive event brought together members from across the DFW area for a spirited run up to Wichita Falls, where we caught up with fellow enthusiasts from the northwest corner of the region.
With a mix of winding country roads, plenty of horsepower, great coffee, good food, and even better company, it was a perfect reminder of why we love these cars — and even more, the community that comes with them.
The Morning Caravan
The day started bright and early at 7:45 AM, where several of us met at the Sam’s Club parking lot on the northeast corner of Highway 380 and I-35 in Denton.
Leading the charge was Rob Turner, proudly behind the wheel of his Racing Yellow Porsche Boxster Cayman S with a GT4 wing— a perfect beacon for the group as we caravanned our way northwest toward Alvord.

Our first rendezvous point was Punjabi Dhabba Restaurant in Alvord, TX.
More members joined us there, adding even more color (and sound!) to the group. After a few quick chats and a caffeine top-up, we headed out for the next leg toward Wichita Falls.
Coffee, Donuts, and Conversation
After a smooth and scenic drive, we rolled into 8th Street Coffee in the heart of Wichita Falls.
This cozy little café is a local favorite, known for its relaxed vibe, great service, and excellent coffee selection. ☕
The owners were incredibly welcoming, and the lot quickly filled with a rainbow of Porsches as we arrived.
Inside, the atmosphere was exactly what you’d want — comfortable, inviting, and perfect for a little mid-morning break.
We loaded up on fresh donuts, strong coffee, and plenty of conversation. Whether catching up with familiar faces or meeting new members from the area, it was clear that the Porsche passion knows no boundaries.

Lunch at P2 The Deuce
With caffeine and sugar properly fueling us, we headed over to P2 The Deuce for lunch — a casual, open-air restaurant that immediately felt like the perfect landing spot after a morning on the road.
P2’s laid-back, rustic atmosphere captures the best of Texas charm. Think vintage signs, open-air patios, cold drinks, and hearty food that hits the spot without any pretense. 🤠
It’s the kind of place where you can pull up a chair in your driving shoes and feel right at home.
I ordered their famous Steak Garlic Sandwich, which was pretty good — a hearty, flavorful bite that paired perfectly with a side of crispy onion rings.
It wasn’t fancy, but it was the kind of good, satisfying food you look forward to after a day of driving and catching up with friends.

Porsche Parking Lot Takeover
Before we wrapped up, we couldn’t help but admire the sight of all the cars gathered under the trees — Porsches of every flavor, shining bright against the Texas backdrop.
The parking lot looked like a pop-up car show, with curious passersby stopping to check out the lineup.

The Perfect Drive Day
These Drive & Arrive events really capture what the Maverick PCA spirit is all about:
Great roads, Great cars and Even better people
It’s not just about where we’re going — it’s about the friendships, the shared experiences, and the moments between Point A and Point B.
Big thanks to Rob Turner for leading the morning caravan and to everyone who came out to make it another memorable day in the Maverick Region.
Already looking forward to the next one. Until then — see you out on the road!
